The Tramshed is Cardiff’s newest music and arts venue. The most interesting thing about this venue is the fact that it is located in the building which used to be the old Cardiff Tram Depot in west Cardiff. This entertainment and live music venue has opened its doors in October 2015 and boasts over a 1000 people seating capacity. Among the upcoming events there are the best music performers, live entertainment, various DJs and comedians.
The Tramshed is located on Clare Road in Cardiff and is easily accessible by car, bus, and train.
By train: the nearest railway station is Cardiff Central Railway Station, which is within 8 minutes walk away from the venue. To get to the Tramshed, you will need to cross the bridge across the River Taff.
By car: the venue is very accessible by the road A4232. However, you have to keep in mind that your route will depend on your departure point.
International: if you are willing to attend the event as soon as your plane has landed in the Cardiff Airport, the best way to get to the Tramshed is to take the T9 express bus route. Exit at Customhouse Street – the club will be within 11 minutes walking distance from the bus stop.
The Tramshed does have its own parking; however, you can find few car parks nearby within a short walking distance to the venue. All car parks have dedicated yellow lines.
Access for people with special needs
Tramshed is a wheelchair accessible and friendly venue. It is equipped with disabled toilets, lifts, and offers convenient ground level parking. The balcony can easily accommodate guests in the wheelchairs and those with mobility troubles. This area provides an unobstructed view. The guide dogs are also welcome at the Tramshed, but prior arrangements have to be made.
