1. Katatonia in Glasgow, 12 May 2017

On Friday, join the metalheads from Katatonia and you will surely have a headbanging night ahead! Katatonia is a Swedish death metal band formed in 1991 by the two musicians Jonas Renkse and Anders Nyström. They first started as a studio project as a channel to express their love of death metal. They shortly became more and more popular, adding more members to the band for their live performances. After the release of their first two death/doom albums and some medical problems with Renkse's vocal cords, the band adopted new musical influences which lead them from the strong and screamed vocals of death metal to a more melodic heavy metal sound. 2. Svedaliza in London, 12 May 2017

Svedaliza is an Iranian-born singer from Rotterdam seen as an all thought-provoking phenomenon and complete artist. Her controversial, powerful, and provocative art breaks the boundaries of dance, words, and sound making her a one of a kind performer. Although she has no more than a few songs out yet, she managed to become a unique and interesting performer to watch in just a few years. She has the power to captivate the audiences and lead them in her dark word of electronic beats and brooding vocals. Witness a show to remember this Friday at the Omeara in London.

3. Tom Walker in Oxford, 12 May 2017

Tom Walker is a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist born in Scotland. He was influenced by his father’s extensive record collection which later on inspired his music. From a young age, Tom was inspired by classic artists such as Ray Charles, Bob Marley, and Sting. He has developed a distinctive style where he combines hip-hop beats with electronic elements and traditional song writing all completed by his soulful and charming voice. He already found critical acclaim in the UK and US being applauded by such names as BBC Radio, Sunday Times, Pigeons and Planes. See him live this Friday at the Cellar Bar.

4. Sabrina Carpenter in London, 13 May 2017

Sabrina Carpenter is a young American singer, songwriter, and actress, with a flourishing career in the cinema industry. She fell in love with music at a very young age and continued participating in singing contests. Later Sabrina announced the title of her debut album, “Eyes Wide Open”. This was preceded by her single "We'll Be the Stars" released in Jan 2015. Also, the same year, she won the Radio Disney Music Award for the "Best Crush Song". You can see her performing this Saturday at the O2 in London.

5. Eleanor McEvoy in Alstonefield, 13 May 2017

Eleanor McEvoy is without a doubt one of Ireland's best contemporary singers and songwriters. She composed the very popular song "Only A Woman's Heart" which was also the title for the best-selling album in all Irish history. Pretty impressive, we must say. Only a few days before the track was released, after watching her perform at The Baggot Inn in Dublin, the Geffen Records, known for signing bands like Motley Crue, Guns & Roses, and Edie Brickell, offered Eleanor an amazing worldwide recording contract. The album was sold in over one million copies in Ireland and it is still the biggest selling Irish album of all time.

6. Billy Ocean in Belfast, 13 May 2017

You must have heard his name before as Billy Ocean is one of the most popular R&B singer-songwriters from the ‘70s and ‘80s. After his first 4 UK Top 20 hits, he achieved a lot of popularity across the seas and a lot of charted hits, including three no. 1 hits in the US. In 1985, Billy Ocean won a Grammy Award for Best Male Rithm & Blues Vocal Performance and in ‘87, he was again nominated for the Best British Male Artist at the Brit Awards. Wheatus is a well-known American alternative rock band established in 1995 and they are best known for their popular song ‘Teenage Dirtbag’ featured in a lot of cinema productions like the movie ‘Loser’ and the series ‘Generation Kill’ produced by HBO. Most recently the track appeared as an acoustic opening for the film ‘Bully’ and the ‘Girl Boss’ series on Netflix. They will rock the stage on Sunday at the Thekla in Bristol.

10 Orchestra Baobab in London, 14 May 2017

Orchestra Baobab was formed in 1970 and it is a multi-ethnic national club band. They have a long history of performances adapting their style from Cuban music to Wolof Griot culture and the Mandinga musical traditions. They became one of the most popular African bands of the ‘70s. The band was on a break from the mid 80’s until they reunited in 2001 after the popularity and demand for their recordings massively grew across Europe. During 2001, Orchestra Baobab completed a world tour including Europe and the US and also re-recorded their album ‘Pirates Choice’ with 6 additional rare bonus tracks. So, dance to the exotic rhythm on Sunday as the wonderful Orchestra Baobab performs at the Jazz Cafe.
