The compactness and capacity of punk, grungy guitars, effective choruses, ironic lyrics and vigorous energy of youth – such a mix was born in the late '90s in New York's Long Island. Independent and purposeful “Wheatus” play music that sounds important, exciting and life affirming. And they are not going to turn off their way. At the head of this structure is a disciplined Brendan B. Brown – composer, singer, guitarist, bassist, and if necessary - pianist and keyboardist. Brendan was born in New York on October 11, 1973. A normal teenage craze of rock music, in which he drew his younger brother Pete, has grown into the main aim of his life over the years.
About Wheatus
Special Conditions
The appearance of the debut “Wheatus” is another story. By the time Brendan Brown drew his new colleagues, they had time for rehearsals and record only at night. During the day they studied or worked, and spent the nights in the cellar of the family house of Browns converted into a recording studio. In one of the songs, the band have kept even the barking of dogs. With several demos in their pocket, they were able to agree on cooperation with Columbia label under special conditions, they explicitly stated. Full of their own brilliant ideas and trying to sound completely original, young musicians have agreed to the maximum creative freedom. They completely took over the responsibility for the final result: it was difficult for Brendan to work under the direction of someone else; he preferred to play by his rules. He even composed the songs in his own way, first the name came up to him, and then he wrote the story and only then, music.
