About Nothing But Thieves
School Mates
The guys were all interested in music from an early age, and their story begins in an Essex school when Conor hooks up with Joe to start making music. Then Conor meets Dom a few years later at college who he also enticed to join him (along with his cousin, Philip). Finally, the group managed to poach James from one of their early supporting bands, and Nothing But Thieves was now complete. They have been compared musically to groups such as the
Foals, Civil Twilight, and The Neighbourhood.
Radio 1 Success
Nothing But Thieves became very popular on Radio 1 and the band’s single “Itch” won both Hottest Record and Track of the Day on the station. They have also appeared on Radio 1’s Live Lounge, twice. After this, the band became a supporting act for both Arcade Fire and
George Ezra at the Brits show. Another huge success for the guys was a supporting act for
Muse where they played in front of 30,000 people at the Rock in Roma show in 2015.
Further Achievements
While 2014 bought Nothing But Thieves further success as a supporting act for
Twenty One Pilots at London’s Electric Brixton, 2015 saw the band have their own sell-out their UK tour, “Ban All the Music”. Their second UK tour began in April 2016 and is due to run right through until December 2016, where extended dates have been offered.
