Manchester Academy Club is located in the basement of the Students’ Union building and is used as a concert venue. Before the 2005 renovation, it was known as Cellar Disco and has hosted students’-only events. Manchester Academy Club capacity is 650 people; there are no seating places unless the event announcement states so. Academy Club has welcomed musicians such as Stevie Wonder

. The venue is also available for private gatherings such as weddings, birthdays, private concerts and corporate parties.

By train and tube: Catch Northern Manchester Airport from Deansgate to Manchester Oxford Street. You would need to walk about 20 minutes on Wakefield Street to Manchester Academy Club.
By bus: From Deansgate walk to Albert Square, take bus number 197 Stockport towards Oxford Street. Walk 40 meters to Manchester Academy Club.
By car: Take M56 to Jackson’s Row, take left to Great Bridgewater Street. Continue on A5103 to Higher Cambridge Street then take left to Oxford Street.
International: Walk from the airport to Bailey Lane and catch bus number 43 to Oxford Infirmary stop, Manchester Academy Club will 3-minute walk away.
Street parking is very limited. Several spots are available for invalids. A nearby NCP car park offers 900 spots for hourly payment. The car park also offers disabled car parking spaces.
Accessibility for people with special needs
Manchester Academy is well equipped to welcome disabled patrons. There are passenger lifts to every floor. Ramps are available at every entrance. All Manchester Academy Club toilets are equipped and adapted to meet the special needs. Please note that you would need to obtain a key from the reception. Assistant dogs are welcome, too. But, you will have to register for a pass; for that, visit the Box Office on the ground floor.
