Manchester Academy 2 is located inside the Students’ Union building on the second floor. It has a seating capacity of 800 people. Currently, it hosts up to 150 gigs a year, ranging from pop, rock, and jazz to RnB and classical concerts. There are more than ten restaurants on site serving a vast range of cuisines. Moreover, 4 bars cater to visitors before and after each event. Furthermore, Manchester Academy 2 can be used for business conferences or private functions, such as wedding receptions or birthdays.

Getting there

Find Manchester Academy 2 in the Manchester University Union, Oxford Road, Manchester, UK. By train and tube: From Victoria Station, take tram number 41. Exit at Piccadilly station and take bus number 42A or 130 to Oxford Road. By bus: Catch bus number 157, 251 or X57 from Piccadilly Station to Manchester University. Manchester Academy 2 will be a 4-minute walk away. By car: if you are new to the city, please, refer to a map for directions. The best way to reach the university is to follow the B5117 highway - it runs right past the venue. International: Exit the airport onto M56 and head towards A5184. Turn to Denmark Street and continue until Oxford Road. You could also take Northern Blackpool Line from platform 4A of Manchester Airport to Piccadilly Station then walk about 25 minutes to Manchester Academy.

Parking facilities

Venue parking is available at Dilworth Street car park. The car park is open 24 hours during weekends; however, it opens at 4 pm on weekdays. The cost is 2 pounds for all days. Eight disable parking bays are available for Blue Badge holders.

Accessibility for people with special needs

Invalid patrons are required to purchase a ticket to the event and fill in a special blank at the reception. The form can also be obtained by emailing [email protected] or calling on 0161 275 2930. Other than this, ramp access is provided at the entrances. All toilets are suited to disabled patrons. Hearing and visually impaired people who require a companion get an extra ticket for free. The ticket is to be collected on the day of the event from the Box Office.
