It was produced and composed by Italian musician Giorgio Moroder and performed by Limahl. As a reference to the film and its title, the song has no distinctive beginning, nor an end. 10. Ghostbusters - Ray Parker Jr.

Everyone knows this very popular song as it was the theme for the 1984 ‘Ghostbusters’ movie starring Ernie Hudson, Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, and Harold Ramis. The song also reached no. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 soon after the movie was released. The fun fact is that according to Ray Parker jr., he had no idea of how to include the word ‘Ghostbusters’ in the lyrics. He had only a few days to come up with a song and luckily his inspiration came from a commercial he saw for a local service similar to the one featured in the movie. ‘Ghostbusters’ was eventually nominated for Best Original Song at the 57th Academy Awards.

9. Kiss From A Rose - Seal

‘Kiss from a Rose’ was written in 1987 becoming the 2nd single from the iconic Batman Forever movie soundtrack. It also went to number four on the UK Singles Chart after it was featured in the film. Few people know that after writing the song, Seal felt ‘embarrassed by it’ as he said, and he didn’t present it to producer Trevor Horn, who eventually turned the record into an 8 million sales.

‘Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now’ is the soundtrack for the 1987 romantic comedy ‘Mannequin’ directed by Michael Gottlieb. The song was recorded by the 80’s rock band Starship and it received an Oscar nomination for ‘Best Original Song’. Albert Hammond stated in a radio interview that the idea for the song came from his own life experience after he could finally end his 7 years marriage. After the divorce was finalised, he could finally marry his girlfriend stating that it almost felt like he was stopped from marrying the woman he loved for seven years but he still did it.

‘Can't Help Falling in Love’ is a pop ballad originally performed by Elvis Presley in 1962 and in 1993, by the British reggae band UB40. The song immediately peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 after appearing in the soundtrack of the erotic thriller ‘Sliver’ directed by Phillip Noyce in 1993. The movie starred some big names like Sharon stone and William Baldwin and was based on the Ira Levin eponymous novel. The soundtrack was an amazing success and it was listed as number one in the US, UK, Austria, Netherlands, Australia, Sweden and New Zealand.

‘Gangsta's Paradise’ is a multi-awarded song performed by the American rappers Coolio and L.V. and it is the soundtrack of the 1995 movie ‘Dangerous Minds’ featuring Michelle Pfeiffer. The fun fact is that there are several parodies of this song, including the hilarious ‘Amish Paradise’ performed by Weird Al Yankovic.
