About Twin Atlantic
A growing popularity
The four members of Twin Atlantic were no strangers to music when they started the band – all of them were previous members of other small bands. Their debut single, “Audience and Audio” was released on 2007’s Christmas Eve, while the first EP, “A Guidance from Colour” followed immediately after, in January 2008. Little by little, Twin Atlantic gained positive reviews and started supporting UK concerts for popular bands such as
Blink-182 or The Matches. This attracted many fans, and the young rock band started showing up at many Scottish festivals, including RockNess, Belladrum Festival and T in the Park.
Almost famous
On September 2008, the band released “What is Light? Where is Laughter?” their second single, launched in front of a large crowd at King Tuts. In 2009, Twin Atlantic gathered three singles on a mini-album (“Vivarium”) which was released in March the same year. The boys continued the series of supporting acts while touring massively for the next 12 months, reaching to the UK and the United States, making fans wherever they played. One of their memorable shows in 2010 was the sold-out Belsonic festival, supporting Bify Clyro.
The third album, “Great Divide”, released in August 2014, brought them a well-deserved award from radio DJ Zane Lowe for the single “Heart and Soul”, as the Hottest Record in the World on BBC Radio 1. The track was so popular, that at the 2014 Association of Independent Music Awards it won the award for “Best Independent Track”. It was actually their best positioned single in UK Charts ever, reaching No. 17. The album itself reached the No. 1 position on UK rock charts and Scottish Album Charts.
