About Robert Plant
Solo Career
Great foursome worked together for 12 years, but the drummer's death was the cause of its collapse. When the pain of losing subsided a little, Plant began a solo career with the release of his album, “Pictures at Eleven”. A talented guitarist Robbie Blunt and such famous figures as Powell and
Phil Collins helped him to record the album.
Changes in Style
If in “Pictures at Eleven” the spirit of the great “LZ” is evident, in the period from 1983 to 1988, Plant released a number of works, the sound of which was greatly lightened. In “The Principle Of Moments”, “Shaken 'N' Stirred”, “Now And Zen” you could find a lot of things - ballads, funk, new wave, pop, and no more the former stiffness. The only reminder of “Led Zeppelin” was the phrases like “hey mama” and “oh baby, baby”, which Robert put into some of the new songs. During the break between the releases of solo discs, Plant organized the “Honeydrippers” project together with Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck. The group was short-lived, but managed to get into the Top 10 with a remake of “Sea of Love” by Phil Phillips.
New Releases
In 1990, the singer finally pleased his fans with more familiar material. Although the album “Manic Nirvana”, made with the participation of young musicians, was far from the works of “Led Zeppelin”, it spirit was felt due to its rigidity and pressure. 5 more studio albums went out after this and the latest one was in 2014 under the title “Lullaby and… The Ceaseless Roar”.
