Corrosion of Conformity is an American metal band from Raleigh. It was formed in 1982 by Woody Weatherman (lead guitar) and Mike Dean (bass). The band started as a hardcore punk band but later moved to more crossover thrash sound, finally ending in playing some kind of mixture between heavy metal and blues. They achieved their commercial success in 1993 when the band signed a contract with Columbia Records and released their album ‘‘Deliverance" in 1994. The band is considered to have a cult status in the heavy metal scene. Band has collaborated with many notable acts, such as Metallica and Down.
