The Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (known as SECC) is Scotland’s largest exhibition centre. Originally opened in 1985, it passed a refurbishment in 2000 and is now one of the most visited venues in the UK. In 2013 the SSE Hydro opened doors as a 12500 capacity concert arena. The Exhibition Centre is a huge facility and is has been chosen by worldwide known performers like Guns N Roses, Lana Del Rey, The Killers, Coldplay
, Green Day and Red Hot Chilli Peppers
The venue is located on Exhibition Way, Glasgow G3 8YW, United Kingdom, and there are several means of getting there:
By train and tube: the nearest station is Exhibition Centre – a couple of minutes away from the venue, on the same street. Exit the station and you will see the impressive facility just in front on you, to the south.
By bus: routes 100, 334, 338, 341, 359 can lead you about 5 minutes to the east of the Exhibition Centre.
By car: follow the A814 direction and you will not miss the venue.
International: take a rail from Bridgeton, Barnhill, Hyndland or Muirend. Exit at Exhibition Centre station and have a minute walk to the place (directions shown above).
The multi-storey car park at the SECC with dedicated yellow lines is the main parking area used by the site event visitors. Directions and additional information about accessibility can be achieved by the operators of the car park.
Accessibility for people with special needs
The SECC gives the opportunity of an unbelievable experience for everyone, regardless of one's needs. The venue is equipped with disabled toilets with RADAR keys. Induction loop systems are also available in some of the rooms, for people with impaired hearing. There is a limited number of wheelchairs that guests of the SECC may borrow for the duration of their visit.
