Initially opened in 1987, Limelight is currently is a mid-sized music venue, featuring live music performances of metal/rock/indie groups and new bands. The complex consists of Limelight 1 and 2, outdoor terrace The Rock Garden and Katy’s Bar. The venue The venue went through a major refurbishment and rebranding in 2012. The Limelight has hosted hundreds of well-known performers and here are only a couple of them: Blur,
Fall Out Boy, Franz Ferdinand, Moby,
Placebo,
Slayer, Snow Patrol and many others.

Getting there
Limelight is located on 17 Ormeau Avenue in Belfast. The venue is easily accessible by car, bus and train.
By train and tube: if you are arriving at Belfast by train, you would be pleased to know that Great Victoria Street Railway Station would be the closest to the Limelight, only 9 minutes walk away from it.
By bus: if you are riding to the venue by bus, the nearest stop would be Dublin Road Botanic. Consider taking bus route 7a, especially if you want to get to the bus stop from Great Victoria Street Station.
By car: take the road A24 and turn onto Ormeau Avenue. The Limelight will be on your right-hand side.
International: if you are attending Limelight right after your flight, it will take you only 10 minutes to get to the venue (via A2) if you are travelling from George Best Belfast City Airport. In case you are coming from Belfast International Airport, you journey will take 25 minutes via M25.
Parking facilities
Even though the venue does not have its own car park, there are on-street parking and car parks available in close proximity. In particular, there is free parking on Charlotte Street in 2 minutes walk away from Limelight (with a 2-hour limit). In addition to that, there is a car park on Dunbar Street, within only 3 minutes of walking distance. This car park has designated parking spots for blue badge holders.
