About Architects
Road to fame
After Sam Carter joined the band as a vocalist, their style finally shaped. In the first albums, the band tended to use the low-end sound of guitars. That is why many fans and critics compared them to the Swedish math-metal legend Messhuggah. Lyrical themes and surrealistic videos created a dark and aggressive atmosphere in their music. This is obvious in songs like “Buried at Sea”,” Early Grave” and “Day In Day Out”. After having some vocal couching, Sam Carter started using more and more of clean vocals which led the band to change their direction to more post-hardcore oriented sound. They toured much with such bands as
Bring me The Horizon and Suicide Silence.
Architects of success
Architects are one of the most successful bands is the history of modern British extreme metal. They were the first metal band to be signed to Century Media since Napalm Death, the originators of grindcore genre. In fact, usage of dropped guitar tunes, harsh and raspy vocals as well as occasional usage of blast beats helped to create a very diverse and original sound of the band. The lyrics are often really dark and focused on different personal issues which helped the band to attract more and more fans. Due to the heavy influence of the US mathcore legend The Dillinger Escape Plan, the rhythmical structure of the band’s songs is often highly sophisticated and features complex guitar riffs and atonal breakdowns which show an immense influence on modern hardcore music.
