However, after a couple of demos made the rounds, Metallien fell apart, and the band continued with a different lineup and changed its name. The original lineup of Meshuggah also included drummer Per Sjögren, bassist Jörgen Lindmark, guitarist Johan Sjögren and vocalist Jens Kidman. Eventually, Kidman left the band and formed Calipash with some of the Meshuggah members and the surviving ones soon fell apart too. Thordendal and Kidman soon decided to reclaim Meshuggah game in 1989. The same year they released a mini-LP, containing only three songs. However, after signing to Nuclear blast, they finally released a full-length album called “Contradictions Collapse” in 1991. Then the EP called “None” was released in 1993. The next album titled “Destroy Erase Improve” came out in 1995 and received a positive critical acclaim. Two years later Meshuggah came back with the new EP - “The True Human Design”.

After a break, the Meshuggah came with a new masterpiece in 2002, named “Nothing”. This very unique creation didn’t end up making much of a mainstream impact, but was definitely liked by the band fans and got a good word from Jack Osbourne. The next EP “I” was released in 2004. The next album “Catch Thirty-Three” came out the following year and proved to be their most ambitious so far. The band released its most recent album “Koloss” in 2012. Finally, in summer of 2016 the band released “25 Years Of Musical Deviance” in collaboration with Nuclear Blast - a 1000 copies anniversary vinyl boxed set.
