Yes Tickets

One of the best British bands was formed in London in 1968. At the root of “Yes” were two of the former member of the pop-team “The Warriors” and “The Syn”, vocalist Jon Anderson and bassist Chris Squire. According to the announcement, they found the drummer Bill Bruford and later came the guitarist Peter Banks and keyboardist Tony Kaye. Their first concert (with covers of “The Beatles”- “The 5th Dimension” and “Traffic”) the team played at a youth camp in 1968, and shortly thereafter “Yes” worked on the warming up for “Cream” in the Royal Albert Hall. The group earned a national recognition after the performance on the radio program of John Peel “Top Gear”. In July 1969, under the contract with Atlantic Records, they issued their debut LP. The disc did not get a chart success, but the virtuosity of the musicians and their ability to deal with the harmonies were already felt. 30 people were invited on the recording of the second album of the band.

About Yes

Creative Work

If in their first two works the team used covers, the third opus consisted entirely of their own material. “The Yes Album” hit the British Top 10 and was sold very well. The album "Fragile", which showed the growth of interest in the classical structures, brought the band international fame, and the composition “Roundabout” has become one of the most famous things of “Yes”. The love of the team to the long epic compositions is clearly delineated in the next disc. Ambitious “Close What The Edge”, was a great success and hit the Top 10.

Break up and Reunion

After recording the album “Relayer”, participants of “Yes” became engaged in releasing solo albums. Only in 1977, the band reunited with Wakeman. Despite the blossoming punk, the band gave two very successful albums, “Going For The One” and “Tormato”, where they returned to truncated song format. In 1980, an updated configuration of the team released the album “Drama”, which differs with a harder sound, but after the tour in support of the disc, the team disbanded.

New Chapters

The new millennium, the group met with the album “Magnification”, recorded similarly to “Time And A Word” - with the orchestra. In 2002, Wakeman has returned once again. But after some years because of the passion of the musicians to solo works and illness of Anderson, the activities of “Yes” stalled. The revival began in 2008. In 2011, the team prepared a long-awaited studio disc. The album was a good demand and appeared in the Top 40.
