The Kills Tickets

“The Kills” team’s creativity is music, consisting of hard guitar’s parts of Jamie “Hotel” Hince, jerky vocals of Alison “VV” Mosshart and rhythmic percussion party of a drum machine. At concerts, Alison sometimes plays the role of the rhythm guitarist. “The Kills” began its existence in 2000, and in 2002, they issued their first single. Critics began the accusations of copying the band “The White Stripes”. In addition to the basic concept (artist duo on the principle of “boy-girl”), “The Kills” recorded in the same studio as Jack White. But the couple did not care, especially since they have always positioned themselves as representatives of the counter-culture.

About The Kills

First Releases

When The Kills found a respected label that agreed to cooperate with them (Domino Records), they immediately began to write songs. In 2002, the group issued EP “Black Rooster”. The album was something completely different than the works of Hince and Mosshart in their previous teams, most resembling “Lo-Fi”. Comparisons with “The White Stripes” became more frequent when “The Kills” recorded their first album “Keep On Your Mean Side” in the same studio (Toe Rag Studios), where “The White Stripes” recorded their famous disc “Elephant” (in the same 2003).

Creative Activity

Positioning itself as a group opposed to the music industry, “The Kills” rarely gave interviews, but regularly invited the media to their indoor performances. The second album, “No Wow”, was let out in 2005. It contained less heavy guitar riffs that were so characteristic of their first record. It was made with a claim to a more “artistic” performance. The first single from the album, “The Good Ones”, was issued in 2005 and occupied the 23rd position in the UK singles chart. In 2008, “The Kills” let out their third out of 5 albums, named “Midnight Boom”. The latest appeared in 2016.
