Nas Tickets

Nasir was born in New York's Brooklyn on September 14, 1973. Nasir Jones made his debut with the demo in 1991 under the pseudonym Nasty Nas. There is a legend that says that Russell Simmons, the head of “Def Jam”, after listening to a record, said: “This sounds like a rapper Kool G Rap, and Kool G Kar is sold badly", and did not sign a contract with young Nasir. In the same 1991, Nas appeared on the track of “Main Source”- “Live at the Barbeque”, and in mid-1992, Nas met MC Serch of 3rd Bass. Serch became the producer of a young rapper and helped him to sign a contract with Columbia Records.

About Nas

Excellent Storyteller

The journalist Steve Huey wrote about the second album of Nas: “Rhymes in the album are not the most difficult, the text is not a stream of words, demonstrating the flow of rapper, but Nas appears to be a wonderful storyteller, able to present the story with integrity and picturesque!”

Enmity

The second single from the album called “Hate Me Now” was recorded in cooperation with Sean “R. Diddy” Combs, and this gave rise to critics to accuse Nas in the transition to commercial rap. At the end of the video for this track, Nas and Combs were crucified like Jesus on the scene. P. Diddy asked to remove the scene with his crucifix, but the unedited version of the video got on MTV, then Combs' bodyguards burst into Steve Stoute'a office and beat him. Stoute threatened with litigation, but in the end, they made an agreement with P. Diddy without the trial. In 2001, the hip-hop community is actively monitoring the enmity between Nas and Jay-Z. Jay-Z called Nas a fake in the track “Takeover”. Nas answered with the track “Ether”, in which Jay-Z is compared to J.J. Evans, the character of the comedy “Good Times” and cigarette brand Joe Camel.

Return of the Reputation

The track opens the fifth album of Nas “Stillmatic” (2001). It debuted on the fifth place in the Billboard charts, thanks to the singles “Got Ur Self A ...” and “One Mic”. Also the singles together with Brandy “What About Us?”, With J-Lo “I'm Gonna Be Alright”, and Ja Rule “The Pledge” were popular. The album was very well received by fans and returned the status of one of the best MC of New York to Nas. Generally speaking, after the death of Notorious B.I.G., Nas took his “royal throne”. And, in fact, only Jay-Z tried to challenge this fact. The seventh album, Nas released in 2004. The disc was called “Street's Disciple”.
