Uzoechi Emenike, better known as MNEK, was born on November 9, 1994 in Lewisham, London, UK. He is the British singer, composer, and the producer of a Nigerian origin. The pseudonym MNEK is a reduced form of the name of the performer, which is read as eMeNEKey. The singer is nominated for a prestigious American award of the Grammy. MNEK is signed on Virgin EMI Records. In December 2013, MNEK was one out of 15 actors who have entered the Long List BBC.

He writes texts for a lot of performers, such as: “Far East Movement”, “Gorgon City”, “Clean Bandit”, “Duke Dumont”, “Rudimental”, “Misha B”, “Little Mix”, “A*M*E”, “Oliver Heldens”. He is also famous for his remixes on the tracks of “Duran Duran”, “Olly Murs”, “Bastille”, and “Tinie Tempah”. In 2014, he worked with Madonna at her album “Rebel Heart”.

Creativity

In February 2012, he recorded with Rudimental the song “Spoons” with Syron. This song failed and didn't even get to charts. In January 2014, he records the track “Ready For Your Love” with “Gorgon City”. The song stopped on the 4th positions in the British chart and on the 41st in the Irish chart of singles. At last, on April 20, 2014, MNEK recorded the single, “Every Little Word” on 1Xtra. The single entered a debut studio disk. On May 9, there was an EP with remixes from Joe Goddard and Fred V & Grafix. The premiere of the following single “Wrote a Song About You” took place on BBC Radio 1, on 13 of June, 2014.

Debut album

On July 22, MNEK issued a promo single “In Your Clouds” within the international campaign from iTunes “Once to Watch”. The song was included into his debut album. The debut disk of MNEK “Small Talk” left on March 27, 2015.
