About Michael Bolton
“Blacklack”
In the 1970's, Michael Bolton performed together with the hard rock team “Blackjack”, and was the frontman of the group. After the dismissal of “Blackjack”, Bolton made a contract with Columbia Records and proceeded his solo career.
The First Success
He succeeded for the first time only in 1987 after the emergence of the disc “The Hunger”, which comprised a soul ballad “That's What Love Is All About”, which occupied the place in the American Top 20 at once. Since then, many of Bolton’s works got into the charts. Generally, these were simple sugary soul ballad but with evident merits that stress Bolton’s talent as a composer.
Trial
Although Michael has the extraordinary vocal, his passion for covers angered the fans of soul music and they requested for a boycott of his song and proclaimed that it is better to listen to classic hits. One of Bolton’s major hits, “Said I Loved You ... But I Lied”, was issued in 1994, and soon the creativity of Bolton has been the subject of a loud trial, during which it was established that the basis for one of his songs was the classical music of the sixties.
