About Maroon 5
Formation
Four school friends Levine, Carmichael, Madden and Ryan Dusick in 1995 created “Kara's Flowers” group, performing youth rock. Having concluded the contract with Reprise label, musicians together with Rob Cavallo (producer) recorded and let out an album “The Fourth World”. However, despite positive reviews of critics, the sales weren't so grandiose, and in 1999 the label terminates the contract with the group. In 2001, “Kara’s Flowers” rename themselves into “Maroon 5”, having taken a new guitarist James Valentine into the group. Besides the name change, the collective took a new musical direction, performing adult alternative pop/rock.
