Advertised as London’s leading off West End theatre, the Southwark Playhouse is a bar and venue for theatrical performances established in 1993 by Juliet Alderdice, Tom Wilson and Mehmet Ergen. Until the redevelopment project of its old London Bridge location is completed, the venue is located on Newington Causeway. Featuring a capacity of 240 people, the Southwark Playhouse is regarded as one of the top studio theatres in the city, as it showcases the works of many new and emerging artists.
