London Somerset House is an entertainment base, located in the heart of London, between the Strand and the River Thames. The gorgeous 18th-century building, with a capacity of up to 1.500 people, fosters all kind of contemporary art exhibitions and live concerts. It is well known for its amazing courtyard, one of the most vibrant places in London, available for skating in the winter and wandering among the beautiful 55 fountains in the summer. Another lovely activity hosted by Somerset House is open-air film screening – which makes the place even more attractive for art lovers. Plus, this is the ideal place for artists, since it also provides workspaces for these noble activities.

Getting there
Somerset House has an excellent site, with the River Thames at a short walk distance; so, it is approachable from almost anywhere.
By train and tube: the nearest rail stations are Charing Cross, Waterloo and Blackfriars. Using the tube will prove to be another great option; the closest underground station is Temple, within a 4-minute walk distance to the venue. But, you also have Convent Garden, Charing Cross and Embankment, depending on which side of the city you’re coming from.
By car: getting to Somerset House by car can be an enjoyable ride since there is the spectacular river view.
International: from Heathrow International Airport, you can either take the Heathrow Express to Paddington Rail Station, then take the 23 bus to the venue; or, take the tube (Piccadilly line) from Terminals 2-3 to Convent Garden Station. You’ll only have about a 7-minute walk to Somerset House.
Parking facilities
Unfortunately, the venue doesn’t have its own parking space. The closest place where you can park your vehicle is Coach Parking. The lot is about a kilometer away, though. You also have Green Parking, which is at an 11-minute walk distance. Blue badge holders will have a dedicated parking space at Somerset House until 6 p.m. every day.
Disabled access
You can acquire wheelchairs on the spot if you book the option in advance. There are also ramps to facilitate the access and adapted toilets. Guide dogs are more than welcome to the venue.
