St. Pancras Old Church is one of the oldest sites of Christian worship in England; it can trace its history all the way back to the 11th century and the time of the Normal Conquest, and is rumored to go back to the 7th century. By 1847, the structures remaining were derelict, and due to a growing population, there was a large restoration and expansion. Further renovations occurred in 1888, 1925, and 1948. Today it is home to a thriving parish in the Anglo-Catholic tradition of the Church of England.
