“Mastodon” is the American heavy metal band from Atlanta. Their music combines such styles as death metal, doom metal, progressive rock, jazz, stoner rock, groove metal. The lineup comprises Brann Dailor, Brent Hinds, Bill Kelliher, and Troy Sanders. The team appeared in 1999, when the drummer Brann Dailor and guitarist Bill Kelliher came to Atlanta from Rochester NY and the staff met the bassist/vocalist Troy Sanders and guitarist/vocalist Brent Hinds at “High on Fire” concert. They found that they had similar musical tastes, love sludge metal of the groups “Melvins” and “Neurosis” and hard rockers of the 70s “Thin Lizzy”. Soon they founded “Mastodon”. Read more
