Getting there
Blackheath Common Road has a highly developed transport infrastructure, so getting to Dartmouth Field should be pretty simple.
By train and tube: while travelling from one of the London suburbs, the Blackheath rail station is the best option to use; but, if you’re coming from any part of the capital, then get down at Lewisham, the closest station to the Field. The entrance is signposted from both stations; you’ll see the sign at the corner of Hare and Billet Road and Mounts Pound Road.
By car: while getting to the area by car is not problematic, you’ll have to face the lack of parking space on site; that is why we strongly recommend using public transport for an easier access.
International: At Heathrow International Airport, take the Piccadilly line to Leicester Square Station, then take the Southeastern railway to Blackheath station. There’s just a 6-minute walk from Dartmouth Field. From Gatwick, take the Southern Railway to Victoria Station, then the Southeastern line to Blackheath.
Parking facilities
While Dartmouth Field doesn’t have its own parking space, there will be a car-free zone during big festivals such as On Blackheath. However, there’s no parking available in the vicinity, although Blue Badge holders have designated onsite car parking, with limited bays.
Access for people with special needs
Wheelchair users can make use of the accessible ramped entrance, and there’s also a viewing platform impaired people can benefit from. At special events, you can pre-book accessible seating in the box office.
