The London Barbican Center was created for people who love to discover and enjoy the arts. The centre features new outstanding artists and performers of our time, both local and international. With 1166 people seating capacity, the venue welcomes over 1.8 million people every year. The Barbican was opened in 1982 and is located in one of the London’s best examples of Brutalist architecture.

Getting there
The location of Barbican is very convenient and easily accessible by underground, road and rail. You can find very detailed guidelines on Barbican’s website.
By train and tube: The Barbican is located within walking distance from few London Underground stations. The closest ones would be Moorgate, St.Paul’s and Barbican. If you want to travel by train, the nearest stations are Farringdon and Liverpool Street.
By car: Your trip will depend on departure point. The Center is very visible with its four car parking lots on Silk Street and Beech Street.
International: you can easily get to Barbican from the international airport. If you arrived at Heathrow, you can take Heathrow Connect and then hop on a Hammersmith & City line of the tube, or take the Heathrow Express and follow the same logic.
Parking facilities
The parking lots are accessible via Beech Street tunnel or via Silk Street. The parking is open 24/7 and you can either pay on the day you use it or pre-book the parking online. Please note that the lots are monitored by the security team.
Access for people with special needs
In 2013 the Center was awarded a silver level in Attitude is Everything due to the fact that the Center continues to improve the accessibility for disabled and deaf people. The main entrance at Silk Street has a ramp; there is accommodation for people with hearing issues as well as provision for wheelchair users. In addition to that, customers who joined Barbican’s Access Membership scheme have an opportunity to let the Center know about their access requirements, get the reduction on tickets and receive information in alternative formats.
