“Landscapes” is a melodic hardcore punk group from Dodge City, the United Kingdom. Six months ago, it was called “Counting Days”, but then due to changes in the composition, it changed its name to “Landscapes”. Under this name, they released an excellent EP on Broken Night Records. They succeeded to go touring across Europe together with “Have Regrets”. In 2012, the group issued their new album “Life Gone Wrong” on City of Gold Records.
About Landscapes
Background Information
The participants of the group are Kai (guitar), Martie (guitar), Nick (bass), Jordi (drums), and Shaun (vocals). The group was formed in the beginning of 2010. Their native town is Somerset, the United Kingdom. Now they are cooperating with Pure Noise Records. In 2010, the band issued their EP “Reminiscence” through Broken Night Records. Their latest album is “Modern Earth” which was let out globally through Pure Noise Records in April of 2016.
Debut Album
Hardcore is usually considered as a macho genre, always prompting listeners to “throw it down” and “fuck shit up”. However, do not think that all hardcore groups are the ‘muscle heads’, and “Landscapes” proves this. In their first full-length disk, they succeeded to present a merger of the rare harmony between aggression and emotion that shows the best of the genre so cathartic. Because of the bleak lyrical plot, Shaun’s screams and barks are desperate and unhinged alongside with melodic atmospheres and tension together with any post-rock outfit created by the band behind him. The musicians are not afraid to show their feelings and even to shout about them.
Creative Activity
“Landscapes” is famous for their intensive touring schedules and live shows. Though the group is relatively young, they have already managed to share stages with such famous groups as “Brutality Will Prevail”, “The Ghost Inside”, and “Architects”. The critics predict that the group can become a key part of the UK hardcore scene and one of the finest Melodic Hardcore acts around.
