About L7

Age of Glory

The L7 was formed by Suzi Gardner Donita Sparks in 1985. The name of the band derived from a 50s slang phrase which meant "square". The band formed a “Rock for Choice” in 1991. The movement was supported by other prominent groups of that era such as Rage Against the Machine, Nirvana, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Pearl Jam.  It was only their third album, released in 1992 and called “Bricks Are Heavy” that brought the success to the band and was even featured in May 1999 issue of the “Rolling Stone’s” on the list of 'Essential recordings of the 1990s'. In fact, this was their most successful release. Their fourth album, named “Hungry for Stink”, was released in summer 1994. It occurred at the same with the Lollapalooza tour, where L7 got a chance to share the stage with other successful musicians of the era such as The Breeders and The Smashing Pumpkins.

Slap-Happy

The most recent album, released by L7 was “Slap-Happy” (1999). Unfortunately, it did not chart on any side of the Atlantic. L7 was no longer touring by 2001. L7 seemed to be defunct for all practical purposes, such as members’ own solo career or being busy with other projects. In winter 2014, L7 announced, via Facebook page, that they are going to be reuniting, featuring Demetra Plakas, Jennifer Finch, Suzi Gardner and Donita Sparks. As part of the reunion, the band refurbished their website and introduced a mailing list for fans.
