James Bay is the British indie-rock musician, singer, composer, and guitarist. James Michael Bay was born on September 4, 1990 in the city of Hitchin, Hertfordshire, Great Britain. At the age of 11, he began to play the guitar inspired by the classical song of Eric Clapton “Layla”, having found the guitar in a case in the house.

Career Start
He studied in Hitchin Boys’ School, and then at the British-Irish Institute of Modern Music (BIMM Institute) in Brighton. In Brighton he received good preparation during night jam sessions with other musicians.
Bay attracted the attention of Republic Records A&R after posting a video at YouTube where he performed in London at an open mic. In a week he signed the deal with the label. Bay’s first EP, “The Dark of the Morning”, was kicked of in 2013.
On The Road to Success
James Bay’s next EP, “Let It Go”, appeared on 12 May 2014. It was in the top 10 iTunes album chart. The head song with the same title was in number 10 in the UK charts. It was possible to see his live performances in the Burberry runway. Bay also made a Burberry Acoustic session. He went touring with “Hozier” in 2014.
His debut studio album “Chaos and the Calm” went out on March 23, 2015.
In February, 2015 he became the winner of Brit Awards in the category "Choice of Critics". On December 7, 2015 he has been nominated for three awards Grammy-2016 in categories the Best new actor, the Best rock album, and the Best rock song.
