About Hoodie Allen
Start of the Career
Young Steven has written songs since early childhood. He performed at school parties and, at that time, he took the pseudonym Hoodie. Even when he worked for Google and spent loads of the time in the company, he managed to give concerts. Hoodie Allen started as a duo of Steven Markowitz and Samuel Obey. When Obey left, Markowitz continued on his own. In 2011-2012, Hoodie Allen released three mixtapes, and it was the time for something bigger. It was 2012 when he became truly famous. His ALL American EP hit the top position on the iTunes chart and #10 on the Billboard Top 200 right away.
Recent Work
Today, Hoddie Allen is collaborating with authoritative representatives of the rap industry, such as
Chance the Rapper, Chiddy Bang, Shwayze, WAX and many others. Besides, some mutual works seem unexpected and therefore even more interesting. In 2014, for example, Hoodie Allen recorded All About It with an eminent British singer
Ed Sheeran. The song was included into People Keep Talking (2014), Hoddie Allen’s debut album. In 2015, Hoodie Allen took part in recording the song Gibberish by Max Schneider, professionally known as MAX, a famous American singer, musician, actor and dancer. The second Hoddie Allen’s studio album Happy Camper was released on January 22, 2016.
