Oran Mor is entertainment site with live music, restaurants and auditorium. It is located in the magnificent building of the Kelvinside Parish Church, built back in 1862. It opened doors as Oran Mor in June 2004, after passing a refurbishment. Weddings, Religious & Civil Ceremonies and Private events can be held in the place. The venue’s capacity is 1100, shared over the downstairs venue (500) and upstairs auditorium (600). Well-known performers such as Lambchop, Amy Winehouse, Neon Neon and Rudimental
had their live shows hosted by the facility.
The venue is located on Byres Rd, Glasgow G12 8QX, United Kingdom, and there are several means of getting there:
By train and tube: the nearest station is Partick – around 20 minutes away from the building. You can have a walk to it, using Dumbarton Rd (walking east) and Byres Rd (walking north). The faster way of getting there is catching buses 8 or 89, which can leave you a couple of minutes away from the venue.
By bus: lines 8, 15, 89, 90 can lead you a minute away from the facility, on the same street.
By car: B808 route will take you directly to Byres Rd.
International: take a rail from Yorker, Rutherglen, Langside or Lenzie. Exit at Partick station and have a walk or catch a bus to reach the venue (as shown above).
You can leave your vehicle at Ashton Road or Lilybank Gardens Car Parks. They are located a couple of minutes south of the building. You can get to the venue by walking on Byres Rd. Both of the parks offer additional places for Blue Badgers.
Accessibility for people with special needs
Oran Mor is easily accessible and can accommodate any visitors. The performance spaces are reachable by a lift, which has wheelchair access. The staff at the venue will always offer a hand if help is needed. Companions are also welcome.
