Early Years

Louisa was born on the 29th April 1989 and grew up in Southampton. She went to Eastleigh College and considered training as a beauty therapist. She had started writing her own music at the age of fourteen, and it was her sister that persuaded her to move to London and pursue her music career. She studied at the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance for a short while but soon left as she preferred writing and performing her own music. She adopted the stage name Foxes so that she could distinguish herself from another English singer, Lily Allen. The name came about because a friend reminded her of a song she had written, 'Like Foxes Do'. With her new name, she started performing in London in 2011.

Success

Her first single, ‘Youth’ was released at the beginning of 2012 and an EP, 'Warrior', was released in the summer of that year. Foxes promoted these with a tour of the States, and it was there that she came to the attention of Zedd, who invited her to sing on 'Clarity'. In May 2013 another single was released, 'Beauty Queen' and later that year she embarked on a headlining UK tour. A track that had first appeared on the Warrior EP, 'Let Go For Tonight', was re-recorded and released as a single at the start of 2014. This became Foxes first UK top ten hit, charting at number seven. Her debut album, 'Glorious' was released in 2014 and reached number five in the UK album charts. She toured the UK again as a headliner in December. She had also started work on her second album, 'All I Need' which was eventually released at the beginning of this year. It features the singles, 'Body Talk' and 'Cruel'.
