Declan Patrick MacManus, born on August 25, 1954, in London, is better known as Elvis Costello. He is the British singer and the composer who exerted a great influence on the development of modern pop music. The father of Declan MacManus was the leader of a jazz group and he was often given copies of popular modern recordings, which he passed through the son. They were the recordings of “The Beatles”, “Kinks”, “The Who”, which installed love to Rock'n'Roll in McManus and became a basis for his own musical style.

Career Start
After the termination of the higher education, he found stable work as the operator of the computer in Liverpool, and in the evenings played in clubs. In 1974, he moved to London and became the lead singer of a local rock group “Flip City”. His first album “My Aim Is True” left in 1977 on the label Columbia and it was immediately proclaimed one of the best debuts in the history of rock. Costello brought together the group under the name “The Attractions” and began performances across America.
