“The Eagles” appeared in 1971 became one of the leading bands in the 70s. The participants of “The Eagles” were not beginners in music – for example, the former guitarist of the group Bernie Leadon has managed to play with the former musicians of “The Byrds”. At first, Glenn Frey, Randy Meisner and Don Hanley gathered to perform with the singer Linda Rondstadt, and then determined to form a group. The name has been taken in memory of “The Byrds”, and the debut album was called “The Eagles” (1972).

Pure Country Rock and Not Only
The disk became very popular, and the papers praised it for "real, pure country rock". “Desperado” (1973), the next disk of “The Eagles”, was devoted to bandits of the Wild West. The disk has shown love of the team to conceptual albums. Banjo and mandolin sounded in it. And here during the record of the following album, “On the Border” (1974), Hanley and Frey determined to leave from habitual style towards a hard rock.
The Most Successful Album
The album, “One of These Nights” (1975), had aggressive, sharp rock sounding. It became one of the best creations of the team, and the track “Lyin' Eyes” got the Grammy award. But, the conflicts within the group began to occur. Bernie Leadon left, and his place was taken by Joe Walsh. In 1976, the album “Their Greatest Hits” appeared. Finally, it became the most prominent disk for all history of America.
Solo Career and Reunion
“Hotel California” (1976) disk followed. Randi Meisner went and Timothy Schmit took his place. But after the record “The Long Run” (1979) the band stops to exist. The musicians was engaged in a solo career. Someone succeeded, someone – not. However, after 14 years “The Eagles” gathered again and the disk “Long Road Out of Eden” (2007) became the first album of new songs since 1979.
