Childhood and Youth

At the age of three, she began to study playing the piano, and at 11, got acquainted with the jazz piano. Simultaneously, she learned to play the guitar, saxophone, flute, and ukulele. At 11, Daya, having a strong desire to sing, begins to study in Accelerando Music Conservatory in Pittsburgh. Here she meets the author of songs and the producer Gino Barletta. Barletta often gave lectures in the academy and paid attention to the young singer. He monitored her progress and in February 2015, called Grace to Los Angeles to work over her material.

Support and Recognition

Daya began to work at Paramount Recording Studios together with Gino Barletta, Brett McLaughlin, Britten Newbill, and Noisecastle III. After recording of her debut single “Hide Away”, Barletta acquainted her with Steve Zap from Z-Entertainment. The experiences radio promoter liked her song and he began to help her promote a single by means of ArtBeatz label. On April 22, 2015 the single “Hide Away” came by ArtBeatz/RED Distribution. The song got support from such famous bloggers as Tyler Oakley and Perez Hilton, and from Jason Lipshutz from Billboard. By October 2015, the video clip to the song collected more than one million viewings. And on August 21, Daya debut on television took place where she presented the hit “Hide Away”. On September 4, 2015, there is her debut EP “Daya” and it debuts on the 161st place in Billboard 200. The single “Hide Away” reaches the 24th place in Billboard Top 40. At the beginning of 2016, Daya has a new single under the name “Sit Still. Look Pretty”. Also the singer took part in the song of “Chainsmokers” – “Don't Let Me Down”.
