Early Days until Now

David was born on August 7th, 1960. David graduated from Princeton University in 1982 with a BA in English Literature. He subsequently achieved an MA in English Literature from Yale University. His first acting role was in a commercial for Lowenbrau beer in 1987 and after that, he had two scenes in the film Working Girl in 1988. There then followed roles in Twin Peaks, the film Chaplin and as the narrator for the erotic TV series, The Red Shoe Diaries before he landed the role of the FBI agent Fox Mulder in the X-Files in 1993. He was on the show until 2001 when he left partly due to a contract dispute. He did appear in the show's final episode, though, in 2002. He had many other appearances in TV shows and films including a minor role in Sex and the City and then, of course, Californication.

Music and Writing

Duchovny really got into music around about 2010 at a time when there was not much else going on in his career. Wanting to expand as a singer-songwriter, he released his first music album, Hell or Highwater in 2015. There are 12 tracks on the album, all written by him. He is backed by a group from the Berklee College of Music. The prominent songs from the album include "Let It Rain", "Stars", and "Lately It's Always December", etc. He has also written two novels, Holy Cow, A Modern-Day Dairy Tale published in 2015 and Bucky F*cking Dent published in 2016. He is divorced from the actress Tea Leoni, with whom he has two children, Madelaine and Kyd.
