Early Years

Together with Coxon, they played in an amateur band “The Aftermath”. Then there was “Real Lives” group where Damon sang and played the piano. They even gave several performances in local pubs and clubs, but didn't achieve success. In 2002, Albarn let out the album “Mali Music” created on the basis of the material collected in 2000 in Mali during a trip to support Oxfam. Also, Damon visited Nigeria to work with the African drummer Tony Allen.

Solo EP

One year later Damon let out an album “Democrazy”, a collection of the demos made in hotels during the American tour of “Blur” in support of an album “Think Tank”.

Other Projects

Albarn also took part in a set of other projects. His song “Closet Romantic” got to a soundtrack of the movie “On a Needle”, along with the early song of “Blur”- “Sing”. In the released album “Fatboy Slim Palookaville”(2004) Albarn performed a voice part in the song “Put It Back Together”. He possesses “voice-over” in "Intro" and a backing vocal in the song “Time Keeps On Slipping” from a conceptual rap album “Deltron 3030”, and also on a track “Lovage (Love That Lovage, Baby)” from an album “Lovage Music to Make Love to Your Old Lady By”. In 1999, Albarn in cooperation with Michael Nyman wrote music for the movie “Ravenous”, and composed the most part of a soundtrack of the criminal comedy “Ordinary Criminal” a year later. Damon Albarn let out a new studio album “Everyday Robots” on April 28, 2014. Albarn characterized a new album as the folk soul project.
