The scenic pseudonym Bruno Mars took in Bruno Sammartino's honor, the popular wrestler. In childhood, he had a nickname “Bruno” because of a chubby figure. The boy added the name of the planet Mars because many people told him: “You have an unclear musical style, strange as though from Mars". However, he did not want to resemble others. Otherwise, he has hardly achieved those tops at which he is now.

The Beginning of the Career

In 2004, Mars signed the contract with Motown Records. As a result, Aaron became the producer of the future star, having convinced Bruno to sign the contract with Atlantic Records. And though the contract was made in 2006, only in four years he began his singing career — and till that time he wrote songs for other performers.
