Britney Spears was born in Kentwood, the State of Louisiana. Britney sang in a church choir of local Baptist church. At eight Spears passed audition for participation in the show "New Club of Mickey Mouse" on the Disney channel. And though producers have decided that Spears is too young for the show, they introduced her to the agent in New York. She sang some time in a maiden group "Innocence", but soon, having decided to begin a solo career, she wrote down a demo disk, which was appreciated by producers from Jive Records. Jive signed the contract with her. Further followed round the country tour, performance in supermarkets, and work on a warming up for the band ‘N Sync.

In 1998, there was a debut single of Britney Spears "… Baby One More Time". The song made a huge success, in the first weeks it headed the international charts. World sales have constituted 9 million copies that has made the disk twice platinum. The album with the same name went out in 1999. The album started on the 1st place of Billboard 200. Ten weeks it was in the upper 10 and 60 weeks in the Top-20. The album became platinum 15 times, and today it is the most successful album of Britney Spears. The album contains 5 powerful hits: "… Baby One More Time", "Sometimes, (You Drive Me) Crazy", "Born to Make You Happy", "From the Bottom of My Broken Heart". In 1999 Britney went to the first North American tour with "... Baby One More Time", which included 80 concerts.

Further progress followed by a break

Spears's progress made her an outstanding figure in the musical industry and in pop culture. At the beginning of 2001 Britney Spears has drawn attention of Pepsi, which offered her a multimillion contract, including TV advertising and participation in promotion actions. In 2001, there was the 3rd album of Spears. The album debuted on the 1st place in the USA. It has made Britney the first performer in the history whose first three albums started at the rating top. After this album Spears went to Dream Within a Dream Tour upon termination of which she declared that she wanted to take a 6-month break in her career. Britney returned on the scene in 2003. The 4th studio album "In The Zone" followed. Britney participated in writing of 8 out of 13 compositions, and she was also the producer of the album. The most successful single was "Toxic". It brought Britney the 1st Grammy award in category the Best dancing composition. Spears became the owner of MTV Video Music Awards only in 2008, despite the couple of nominations. Spears's single "Piece of Me" won in three categories.
