Musiq Soulchild or Taalib Johnson, such name he was given by his parents at the birth, was born in 1977 in Philadelphia. At 17, Musiq decided that he had enough education, left school, his family and became independent. He played in jazz clubs from time to time, sang a capella on the streets of Philadelphia, from time to time intercepted some other work.
