The Canadian singer and the author of texts, Avril Ramona Lavigne, was born in Belleville (Ontario, Canada) on September 27, 1984. In 2002, the debut album of Lavigne “Let Go”, which at once became a hit number 1 in Canada and got to the chart of 40 best songs Billboard, was issued. Less than in 6 months, it has been declared "four times platinum" by the American association of sound recording.

The first single from the album “Under My Skin” under the name “Do not Tell Me”, which has been issued earlier, became No. 1 in Argentina, has got to the five of the best in Great Britain and Canada and to the best 10 in Australia, Brazil, and the European summary chart (June, 2004).
After that, the second single from the album “My Happy Ending” has reached No. 9 in the chart of Billboard Hot 100, having become her 3rd largest hit.
The 3rd single from the album “Nobody's Home” has taken only the 41st place in Billboard chart, but thanks to the interest of fans and universal recognition, the song became a hit. The same happened to the song “He Wasn’t”, which got on tops of the charts.

As a result of such improbable success, in 2002, Avril was nominated for MTV Video Music Awards as the new actor, and in 2003 at Juno Awards she received four: the best single of year (“Complicated”); album of year (“Let Go”); new actor of year; the best pop album of year. Besides, she was provided in eight nominations on the "Grammy", but won nothing.
Avril has been nominated for the World Music Award in 2004 and in five categories at Juno Awards 2005, at the same time having received three of them that together with the previous awards has constituted 7.
Except above-mentioned awards, Avril has received still a great number of others, including 3 MTV Asia Awards (2003); 4 Juno Awards (April, 2005); 3 Juno Awards in 2005. Some other awards: Avril was included in the FHM list of 100 sexiest women of the world in 2003 and 2004.
