About Aurora
The enigmatic voice
Aurora makes everyone’s hearts flutter, that’s for sure – she was repeatedly named as the new hope of music, and her small repertoire of ballads made an astonishing impression among both music lovers and critics. The unique touch of folk and electric cords, together with the sophisticated composition, made her first single as a lead artist one of the greatest so far. “Awakening”, released in May 2013, came a few months after “Puppet” – her first track which propelled her on the music path. Her vocals often remind one of
Florence + the Machine, but Aurora undoubtedly has her own signature “written” on each and one of her songs, thanks to her sweet, yet bewildered voice.
Harry Potter and the house in the woods – the dreams of a young songstress
The electropop songstress attached all kind of emotions in her debut EP, “Running with the Wolves”, released in May 2015, by Decca – which made it all the way to the top of VG-list, a Norwegian record chart. There are songs with a morbid, sad influence, while others tend to be rather dream-like and hopeful. She often said that she “borrowed” the melancholy from Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen’s music.
Her third single, “Murder Song (5, 4, 3, 2, 1)”, released in September 2015, was so popular that Aurora was chosen to record for John Lewis Christmas advert and perform at CMJ Music Marathon in New York – a huge event for all rising artists.
At only 20, Aurora is a promising future star, dreaming of recording a soundtrack for a Harry Potter movie, her favorite series and maybe still writing songs and performing ten years later, in her house in the woods, as she said in an interview.
