English metalcore band Asking Alexandria was formed in 2008 in York. The band released four albums and toured widely around the world. They are considered to be one of the most famous metalcore bands in recent years due to a huge commercial success they received after releasing their album, entitled “Stand Up And Scream” in 2009. After that, the band went on their first US tour with Alesana and Unholy, which brought them worldwide fame.

Reckless & Relentless

The band was formed by Ben Bruce, Danny Worsnop, Joe Lancaster, Ryan Binns, James Cassells and Cameron Liddell. After several replacements in the line-up, the band managed to forge their genre and released albums entitled "Stand Up And Scream", "Reckless & Relentless" and "From Death to Destiny" before their long time vocalist Danny Worsnopleft left the band due to personal reasons. Their new singer, Denis Stoff, first appeared on the 2015 album entitled "The Black", which featured such songs as "Let It Sleep", "The Black", "I Won't Give In", "Sometimes It Ends", "Just a Slave to Rock 'n Roll", and "Here I Am".

Coining their own style

Style of Asking Alexandria is often considered to be metalcore; though, throughout their career, they changed their sound a lot adding more and more electronic elements to their music. Later they incorporated more elements of post-hardcore, a genre which became really popular at that time. On their later works, the influence of such acts as Guns'n'Roses and Skid Row can be felt, as well as experiments with such genre as arena rock. As for their lyrics style, it is well known the texts were never written down before the band entered the studio and their vocalist created versions of the songs in quite an improvised manner. Though the guitarist of the band considered their writing to be a bit immature, their lyrical content is widely praised by the fans of the band.
