“5 Seconds of Summer” (5 SOS) is the pop punk and pop rock boys band. Appeared in Sydney in 2011, it comprises Luke Hemmings (vocals, guitar), Michael Clifford (guitar, vocal), Calum Hood (bass guitar, vocals), and Asheton Irwin (percussions, vocals). Their debut track “Out of My Limit” was released exclusively in Australia and New Zealand in 2012. In February 2014, the band let out “She Looks So Perfect” as their debut release worldwide.

Formation, beginning of creativity
In December 2011, 4 of them began to record on video a cover version of popular hits. The first of such rollers was placed on February 3, 2011 on the original channel of Hemmings at YouTube video service.
In December 2011, the drummer Asheton Irwin entered the group to play the first concert in Sydney. Then Asheton became the permanent part.
“5 Seconds of Summer” managed to draw attention of large musical labels, having begun to cooperate with one of the largest Sony/ATV Music Publishing record company. The first musical release of the collective is a mini-album “Unplugged”, which reached the 3rd line in the Australian chart on sales of iTunes online store, thanks to the track “Gotta Get Out”.
In December 2012, the group went to London where some time wrote down new songs with the known collectives “McFly”, “Kaiser Chiefs”, “Busted”, and “Scouting for Girls”.
Debut release worldwide
The single “She Looks So Perfect” headed the charts in Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, and the United Kingdom. Their debut album with the same name was let out in June, 2014. Within two days, it came out on top in 39 countries.
Achievements
At the beginning of August 2014, “5 Seconds of Summer” won in two nominations of Teen Choice Awards and won at MTV Video Music Awards.
At an annual ceremony of MTV Europe Music Awards in 2014, “5SOS” won in several nominations.
