The British soul-pop band “Simply Red” was created in 1984 by Mick "Red" Hucknall (vocals) and three ex-participants of the team “Durutti Column” – Tony Bowers (bass), Chris Joyce (drums), and Tim Kellett (keyboards), in addition, Sylvan Richardson (guitar) and Fritz McIntyre (keyboards). Mick was born on June 8, 1960 in Manchester, England. The collective concluded a deal with a recording studio Elektra Records and issued “Picture Book” (1985) with the song “Money's Too Tight (To Mention)” (cover of “Valentine Brothers”) the participant of Top 40, and a track written by Hucknall, “Holding Back the Years”, which led the US charts.
