The American rapper Mario Mims known in the world of show business under the pseudonym Yo Gotti, was born in the State of Tennessee, in the northern part of Memphis. Yo Gotti belongs to those performers who passed the school of hip-hop Dirty South in the late 90s. His scenic name comes from the New York mafia names – John Gotti, Don Gotti, Irv Gotti. The direction, which the musician works in, can be characterized as the gangster-rap.

First Album
The place where he was born and grew up was Memphis, and other more dangerous areas inspired Gotti on the creation of lyrics in which he tells about dangers of life, crimes. Gotti composes little about sex. The first album of the rapper left in 2000. In a year, he signed the contract with TVT and in 2003 he let out the next album. With the assistance of TVT, there was a single “Dirty South Soldat”. The single “Full Time”, which was used as a soundtrack to the movie “Hustle & Flow” (2006), brought great popularity to the musician.

Between 2000 and 2006, Yo Gotti issued a number of independent disks. Among them were “Da Dope Game 2 Da Rap Game” (2000), “Self-Explanatory” (2001), “Life” (2003), and “Back 2 da Basics” (2006). His major studio disk “Live From The Kitchen” Yo Gotti issues on January 10, 2012. In 2013, Yo Gotti let out his sixth studio album entitled “I Am” (2013). The first track from it is “Act Right” with Young Jeezy and YG. “The Art of Hustle” appeared in 2016 and occupied No. 4 in the Billboard 200.
