About Warpaint
History
Formed on 2004 Valentine’s Day, the group started recording their first EP, called “Exquisite Corpse” only in 2007. A former guitarist of Red Hot Chili Peppers (John Frusciante) mixed and mastered the EP which was finally released in 2008. In fact, Josh Klinghoffer, current RHCP guitarist performed guitar and drums on that Warpaint EP. This self-released EP has quickly moved to number 1 position on the LA Amoeba Records chart. The next year “Exquisite Corpse” was released worldwide and had a huge success. The song “Elephant” even made an appearance in the 2011 Lionsgate horror film “Siren”.
Debut
The band released their first album called “Fool” in autumn 2010. Before releasing this album, the group recorded a cover of the song ”Ashes to Ashes” by David Bowie for his “We Were So Turned On” album. One of the most popular songs from the Warpaint debut album was “Shadows”, which was released as a digital download only in 2011 and managed to be playlisted as part of “In New Music We Trust” by BBC Radio 1. The same year Warpaint toured Europe and States to promote their album. The tour included participation in various major festivals.
Heads Up
Their second album which was called “Warpaint” was released in 2014. Two years later, just recently, in summer 2016, Warpaint released a new song, ironically called "New Song”. On top of that, it was announced that their third studio album “Heads Up” is going to be released in September 2016.
