About Usher
New Star
Having finished high school, Usher undertakes recording of the second disk “My Way”, 1997. The song “You Make Me Wanna” spent 11 weeks on the first place of the charts, which outstripped even Elton John’s “Candle in the Wind”, and this was the reason to suppose that a new star appeared in a sky of popular music. “My Way” became 6 times “platinum”.
In 2001, the 3rd album with the strange name “8701” was issued. The hit single “U Remind Me” stayed in charts of both R&B and pop music within 4 weeks. Then, the song “U Got It Ba” that “got stuck” in charts for 7 and 6 weeks surpassed this result. 8 million copies became total of sales of the album. Usher received the Grammy for the listed above songs.
New Success
Instead of resting on laurels, Usher surpasses himself with the album “Confessions” (2004). More than 100 million copies were sold out for the first week. Seven months after its emergence the album was reissued with 4 bonus tracks among which was a hit — “My Boo” with Alicia Keys.
In 2008 there is the next album of Usher “Here I Stand”. Two singles from it — “Love In This Club” and “Moving Mountains” — get to Billboard Hot 100. His latest two albums are “Raymond v. Raymond” (2010) and “Looking 4 Myself” (2012).
