The Kings Theatre, standing on Leven Street in Edinburgh, first opened its doors in 1906. It is one of the most luxurious theatres in Scotland after its last major refurbishment in 1985. There are plans for another refurbishment to make the theatre more modern. It seats 1350 people, and this is just over half of its original capacity. The venue is mainly used for variety shows and also hosts Edinburgh's annual mainstream pantomime. Many big Scottish names have appeared there including Stanley Baxter and Jimmy Logan.
