Speaking of the indie rock stars, there are few rising bands nowadays. One of them is The Front Bottoms, a New Jersey band, formed in Woodcliff Lake. The band was created by two childhood friends - Brian Sella and Mathew Uychich in 2007. Their music career took off after two self-released albums, and they are definitely on the rise nowadays. Current members include Brian Sella (guitar, vocals), Ciaran O'Donnell (trumpet, guitar, keyboards), Tom Warren (bass) and Mat Uychich (drums).
About The Front Bottoms
First years
After the group was formed in summer 2007, The Front Bottoms spend next couple of years playing locally in New Jersey, gradually starting to tour around the States. In between the tours, Uychich was still working in landscaping, and Sella was working in a grocery store. Nevertheless, they managed to self-release an album called “I Hate My Friends” in 2008, followed by a second self-released album in 2009 named “My Grandma vs Pneumonia”. They even released a five-song cassette “Calm Down and Breathe”, but there were only 30 of them released.
Success
Around 2010, the band begins to write material for their self-titled album, which was released a year later in 2011. The second studio album of The Front Bottoms, called “Talon of the Hawk”, was released in spring 2013.
On April 18, 2015, two songs released by Bar/None Records and Run For Cover. The split EP “Liberty and Prosperity" features the songs "Handcuffs" and "Wolfman".
2015 was a great year for The Front Bottoms because they signed to the Fueled By Ramen label. In autumn 2015, the third studio album “Back on Top” was released.
Just recently, in March 2016, the band released a new song "Noodle Monster" which you can look up on Fueled By Ramen YouTube Channel.
Soon after that, Pitchfork festival website releases a music video for the "Ginger", a new song from "Back on Top" album.
